Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo ~ 79th Annual
July 25-28, 2012
2012 marks the Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo is 79 year! The fair board and staff are very excited about the upcoming 2012 Fair and all are working very hard to make this another great time. We would not be able to put on the quality fair that we do without the wonderful support of community minded people like you!
Every year, we struggle financially with the ongoing maintenance and repair costs of the fair complex. We are in need of help and contributions from businesses and the folks of Jefferson County Contributions made directly to the Jefferson County Fair may be tax deductible under IRS Code 170(c)(1), check with your tax preparer.
The Jefferson County Fair Complex does not receive general fund property taxes. This year we will receive some state lottery-video poker funds, an allocation of Jefferson County transient room tax (TOT) dollars, Jefferson County Economic Development funds and the rest we will make by renting the facility. The Fair Board and staff strive to keep the youth and agricultural community active and in a facility that the community can be proud to use.
A variety of groups use the Fair Complex throughout the year. For instance, Good Sams, youth groups, Cowdeo (little kids rodeo), Motocross, 4-H & FFA events, numerous horse events, Cattle shows for youth, Farm Fair, Clint Corey and Bobby Mote clinics, All Rockhound Pow-Wow, Small Farmer’s Journal Horse drawn Auction & Swap Meet, ropings, numerous meetings, family reunions, Saturday Market, Quilt Show, weddings & receptions, quincenetas and of course Jefferson County 4-H horse Fair along with the Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo.
With your help, we will continue to do our best to maintain and improve the fair complex for our youth, seniors and citizens of Jefferson County. We look forward to hearing from you!
